The 2016 Physician Fee Schedule final rule

The 2016 Physician Fee Schedule final rule with comment period was placed on display at the Federal Register on October 30, 2015. In addition to policies affecting the calculation of payment rates, this final rule identifies potentially misvalued codes, adds procedures to the telehealth list, and finalizes a number of new policies, including several that are a result of recently enacted legislation. The rule also finalizes changes to several of the quality reporting initiatives that are associated with Physician Fee Schedule payments, including the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS), the Physician Value-Based Payment Modifier (Value Modifier), and the Medicare Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program, as well as changes to the Physician Compare website on Medicare.gov. This is the first Physician Fee Schedule final rule since the repeal of the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) formula by the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA). The calendar year 2016 Physician Fee Schedule final rule is one of the several final rules reflecting a broader Administration-wide strategy to create a health care system that results in better care, smarter spending, and healthier people.

How healthy is the state of Colorado?

Colorado is the twenty-second most populous state in the U.S. and is ranked as the 9th healthiest place to live. Colorado’s strength as a healthy state is helped by its lower prevalence of obesity than all other states as well as its low prevalence of diabetes. Two challenges facing Colorado are its low use of early prenatal care as well as its low immunization coverage.

AARP Supplement Medicare Insurance

AARP Supplement Medicare Insurance

When looking for Medicare Supplements you have to find a company that sells Medigap plans. With so many to pick for it can be overwhelming. today I’m going to tell you about AARP and AARP Supplement Medicare Insurance.

History

According to the group’s official history, Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus founded AARP in 1958. AARP evolved from the National Retired Teachers Association (NRTA), which Andrus had established in 1947 to promote her philosophy of productive aging, and in response to the need for health insurance for retired teachers. After ten years, Andrus opened the organization to all Americans over 50, creating AARP. Today, the NRTA is a division within AARP. Dr. Andrus founded AARP while living in Ojai, California, where she had established an innovative new retirement home named Grey Gables. Ojai served as national headquarters for AARP from 1958 until the mid-1960s. Honors to Dr. Andrus include National Teacher of the Year in 1954, induction into the Women’s Hall of Fame and, more recently, a medallion placed on the Points of Light Institute’s “Extra Mile Pathway” in downtown Washington, D.C.

Medicare Health Insurance

Medicare Health Insurance

  1. There are two main ways to get Medicare.

    • Original Medicare (Parts A and B) which is provided by the federal government
    • A Medicare Advantage plan (Part C) offered by a private insurance company
  2. With Original Medicare, you may pay a share of the cost.

    • You contributed to Medicare by paying taxes. That’s why you’re eligible for Medicare when you turn 65.
    • Original Medicare may not pay for everything. You may pay a share of the cost of monthly premiums and copays.
  3. Medicare supplement insurance helps with some out-of-pocket costs.

  4. Prescription drug coverage may help limit drug costs.

    • Original Medicare does not include prescription drug coverage. However as a Medicare member, you can get Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage.
    • Prescription drug plans, also known as PDP, and Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private insurance companies.
    • You can enroll in a stand-alone Part D plan to go with your Original Medicare coverage.
    • You can enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan that includes prescription drug coverage.
  5. Coverage choices vary by plan type and state.

    • Original Medicare (Parts A and B) is the same across the United States.
    • Medicare Advantage (Part C) and prescription drug (Part D) plans are offered by private insurance companies and may be available only in certain counties, states or regions.
    • Medicare supplement plans travel with you nationwide. The plans are standardized, but the availability may vary by state.

Medigap Hybrid

Medigap Hybrid

Medigap Information as part of an overall hybrid solution.
Why Medigap

Medigap aka Medicare Supplemental Insurance is an important area of concern for the increasing population of aging citizens in the United States. If a senior citizen is not covered by the Medicare insurance program (or is only partially covered) then Medigap can take up the slack. Rising health costs make it absolutely vital that a person searches out and finds the most robust and affordable coverage available. That is why a call to 1-800-MEDIGAP is a must for anyone looking to insure themselves properly.

Medigap Supplemental Insurance Eligibility

So the first question that must be answered is one of eligibility. Part A and Part B Medicare subscribers meet the baseline of eligibility requirements. However, there are a few other intricacies and it helps to know the details. For example, those receiving SSDI insurance while under the age of 65 are not eligible for the Meidcare supplement. Open enrollment is only those who are already 65 or will be within 6 months. If you have questions regarding further Medigap informationand give us a call.

Medigap Hybrid Solution

Medigap Drug Coverage is a part of the hybrid solution

Pharmaceuticals are an important component to this social program. Senior citizens are generally on a fixed income and can find it hard to afford a lengthy list of prescription drugs with all of the other expense that they are faced with. Unfortunately, there are no new plans being sold that include drug coverage. However, it is important for people existing plans to check with a specialist to insure that they follow proper procedure to not create a lapse in benefits. The best way to be sure that you are doing the right thing is to call and speak with a knowledgable and friendly representative.
